Flightfox from a buyers perspective - Part 1

A few months ago I posted about making money on Flightfox, a service which allows you to post a flight and let others do the work of finding the best price, connections, using your miles etc. After that post I bid on a few more flights for the next week or two, but ended up giving up on it. The competition became fierce and I basically wasn't winning enough to warrant the time.

So I figure if I couldn't beat them back then, I probably can't now. It took me about an hour Sunday night to find a 1 way flight from Prague to Austin for $650, and this morning I posted the details on Flightfox to see what they come up with. You can watch the Prague to Austin contest - feel free to post a flight and try to earn some money if you know a cheaper connection!

If it works out in my favor I have a few more upcoming flights that I'll be posting as well. Looking at the number of active flights at the moment though, it seems that the buzz has died down a bit and the service isn't as busy as it used to be. Currently there are about 2 pages of open flights, a few months ago there were 5 or 6 pages. I hope this doesn't mean the service is dying off - I like the premise, and hope it succeeds.

Once the contest is over I'll be posting the results under Flightfox from a buyers perspective - Part 2
